Benefits of VCT
Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) is also known as resilient tile. It is called “composition” tile because it is composed of two elements: the binding material (vinyl, up to 34%) and the filler material (typically limestone and clay). This composition, along with the special manufacturing process, make VCT highly durable and stable, resistant to impact and UV damage and noise absorbent. And you don’t have to sacrifice the appearance either, because VCT comes in many color and pattern choices. One thing to keep in mind is that VCT is porous and may need periodic resealing to maintain its appearance.
VCT traditionally comes in 12” tiles and is primarily used in commercial and industrial applications that require easy-to-clean resilient flooring:
- Retail stores and supermarkets
- Schools and colleges
- Hospitals and medical labs
- Hair salons and spas
